The mAh number on the box tells you very little on its own. What decides the experience is the energy that actually reaches your device, how fast it charges, and the weight you will carry every day.

Compare the exact energy and power declarations
Watt-hours for travel. Record the maker-stated Wh value from the product or manual. IATA's 2026 passenger guidance uses watt-hours for power-bank limits; do not derive a travel decision from mAh alone when the declared Wh value is available.
Output per port and combination. Match each device's input requirement to the exact port table. USB-IF describes USB Power Delivery as negotiated flexible power; a USB-C connector or a total wattage headline does not prove what one port supplies in every combination.
Input to the bank. Check the supported input modes, required charger and cable, and any simultaneous-charge restriction in the exact manual. Do not estimate refill time from capacity alone.
Cable path. Verify the connector, data/power role and marked cable capability for the device and bank. Treat a built-in cable as model-specific hardware with its own warranty and fallback-port implications.
Size, mass and useful result. Compare declared dimensions and mass, then use an independent test of the exact model and target device for delivered charge, heat and sustained power.
Air travel. IATA provides a baseline, requires power banks in carry-on baggage rather than checked baggage, and notes that airlines may impose stricter conditions. Check the operating airline for every trip.
