كاميرا السيارة تعمل في أسوأ مكان يمكن أن يوضع فيه جهاز إلكتروني عندنا: خلف زجاج تحت شمس الظهر. قبل الدقة وزاوية التصوير، تأكد أنها تتحمل الحرارة، وأن بطاقتها تسجل دون انقطاع، وأن المقطع المهم يُحفظ فعلًا.
في صيف المملكة والخليج قد ترتفع حرارة مقصورة السيارة المتوقفة تحت الشمس فوق ما تتحمله أجهزة كثيرة. لذلك أول رقم تقرؤه في دليل الكاميرا هو نطاق درجة حرارة التشغيل. على سبيل المثال، تذكر Garmin في مواصفات Dash Cam Mini 2 نطاق تشغيل يصل إلى 60 درجة مئوية، وتختلف موديلاتها الأخرى في هذا الحد. قارن هذا الرقم بين الموديلات، ولا تكتفِ بعبارة «مناسبة للأجواء الحارة».
البطارية أم المكثف. بعض الكاميرات تحتفظ بطاقتها في بطارية ليثيوم صغيرة، وبعضها يستخدم مكثفًا فائقًا (supercapacitor) يكفي لحفظ آخر مقطع عند انطفاء السيارة. المكثف أقل تأثرًا بالحرارة عادةً، والبطارية الداخلية في كاميرا تبقى تحت الشمس تتعب أسرع. اقرأ الدليل لتعرف أيهما في الموديل.
التركيب في الظل. ركّب الكاميرا خلف المرآة الداخلية حيث يظللها جسمها، ولا تتركها معلقة في وسط الزجاج. وإن كان الموديل يُفصل بسهولة، فاحمله معك في أيام الحر الشديد إن كانت السيارة ستقف طويلًا في الشمس.
المظلة الشمسية. مظلة الزجاج الأمامي تخفف الحرارة على الكاميرا والطبلون، لكنها قد تحجب الرؤية في وضع الوقوف. وازن بين الاثنين.
ما الذي يحدد الفرق فعلًا
الصورة ليلًا لا نهارًا فقط. أغلب الكاميرات تصور جيدًا في النهار. الفرق في الليل وفي الوهج المعاكس للشمس. شاهد مقاطع أصلية ليلية من الموديل نفسه، وانظر: هل تُقرأ لوحة سيارة أمامك وهي تتحرك؟
زاوية التصوير. الزاوية العريضة جدًا تلتقط مسارات أكثر لكنها تصغّر التفاصيل وتشوه الأطراف. الزاوية المتوسطة توازن بين التغطية ووضوح اللوحات.
أمامية فقط أم أمامية وخلفية. الحوادث من الخلف شائعة في الزحام والإشارات. الكاميرا الخلفية تضيف تمديد كيبل داخل السيارة، وقد يحتاج تركيبها فنيًا.
GPS والتاريخ. تسجيل الموقع والسرعة والوقت مع المقطع يساعد في توثيق ما حدث. اضبط التاريخ والوقت بدقة من أول يوم.
بطاقة الذاكرة. التسجيل المستمر يكتب على البطاقة طوال الوقت. تحدد جمعية SD فئات سرعة الفيديو مثل V30 التي تعني حدًا أدنى لسرعة الكتابة المتواصلة، وتنصح بـU3 أو V30 لتسجيل الدقة الكاملة حتى 4K. اختر بطاقة مصممة للتسجيل المتواصل (High Endurance) بالسعة التي يدعمها دليل الكاميرا، واستبدلها دوريًا.
حفظ المقطع المهم. تعتمد الكاميرات على مستشعر اهتزاز يقفل المقطع عند الصدمة حتى لا يُكتب فوقه. تأكد أن حساسيته قابلة للضبط، فالمطبات قد تملأ البطاقة بمقاطع مقفلة.
التطبيق والنقل. نقل المقاطع إلى الجوال بالواي فاي يسهّل حفظها فورًا بعد الحادث. جرّب التطبيق وأنت متوقف، ولا تستخدمه أثناء القيادة.
وضع الوقوف وبطارية السيارة
وضع الوقوف يجعل الكاميرا تسجل عند الحركة أو الصدمة والسيارة مطفأة، لكنه يحتاج كهرباء دائمة. الطريقة المعتادة هي توصيلة مباشرة بصندوق الفيوزات (hardwire kit) فيها قاطع جهد منخفض يفصل الكاميرا قبل أن تضعف بطارية السيارة. يشرح دعم VIOFO مثلًا أن اختيار جهد قطع أقل يطيل التسجيل لكنه يقترب أكثر من حد تشغيل السيارة. البديل حزمة بطارية منفصلة للكاميرا لا تلمس بطارية السيارة. وفي حر الصيف تكون بطارية السيارة نفسها تحت ضغط، فكن محافظًا في الإعداد، ودع فنيًا يركّب التوصيلة إن لم تكن متمرسًا.

بعد الحادث. الإجراء الرسمي للحوادث عبر نجم أو الجهات المختصة كما هو. احفظ المقطع فورًا وانقله إلى جوالك، فقد يساعد في توضيح ما حدث.
الخصوصية. لا تنشر مقاطع تظهر فيها وجوه الناس أو لوحات سياراتهم على وسائل التواصل. ينظم نظام حماية البيانات الشخصية الذي تشرف عليه سدايا معالجة البيانات الشخصية في المملكة. وإن كانت الكاميرا تسجل الصوت داخل السيارة، فأعلم الركاب.
الاعتماد والضمان. الكاميرات التي فيها واي فاي أو اتصال خلوي أجهزة لاسلكية تحتاج اعتماد هيئة الاتصالات والفضاء والتقنية. واسأل عن الضمان داخل المملكة.
الرؤية. ركّبها بحيث لا تحجب رؤيتك للطريق، وبعيدًا عن مسار الوسادة الهوائية.

A dash cam works in the worst place an electronic device can sit here: behind glass in the midday sun. Before resolution and field of view, make sure it tolerates heat, that its card records without dropping out, and that the clip that matters is actually saved.
In a Saudi and Gulf summer, the cabin of a car parked in the sun can get hotter than many devices can take. So the first figure to read in a dash cam's manual is its operating temperature range. For example, Garmin lists an operating range up to 60 degrees Celsius for the Dash Cam Mini 2, and its other models differ on that limit. Compare this figure across models rather than trusting "suitable for hot climates".
Battery or capacitor. Some cameras keep power in a small lithium battery; others use a supercapacitor that holds just enough to save the last clip when the car switches off. A capacitor usually copes with heat better, and an internal battery in a camera left in the sun wears faster. Read the manual to know which the model uses.
Mount it in shade. Mount the camera behind the rear-view mirror where the mirror housing shades it, not hanging in the middle of the windscreen. If the model detaches easily, take it with you on very hot days when the car will stand in the sun for long.
Sunshade. A windscreen sunshade cuts heat on the camera and dashboard, but can block the view in parking mode. Weigh the two.
What actually makes the difference
The picture at night, not just by day. Most cameras film well in daylight. The difference is at night and against low sun. Watch original night clips from the same model and ask: can you read the plate of a moving car ahead?
Field of view. A very wide angle captures more lanes but shrinks detail and distorts the edges. A moderate angle balances coverage and readable plates.
Front only, or front and rear. Rear-end collisions are common in traffic and at signals. A rear camera means running a cable through the cabin and may need a technician.
GPS and time. Recording location, speed and time with the clip helps document what happened. Set the date and time correctly from day one.
The memory card. Continuous recording writes to the card all the time. The SD Association defines video speed classes such as V30, meaning a minimum sustained write speed, and recommends U3 or V30 for full HD up to 4K recording. Choose a card made for continuous recording (high endurance) at a capacity the manual supports, and replace it periodically.
Saving the clip that matters. Cameras use a shock sensor (G-sensor) to lock a clip on impact so it is not overwritten. Make sure its sensitivity is adjustable, or speed bumps can fill the card with locked clips.
App and transfer. Moving clips to your phone over Wi-Fi makes it easy to save them right after an incident. Try the app while parked, never while driving.
Parking mode and the car battery
Parking mode lets the camera record on motion or impact while the car is off, but it needs constant power. The usual way is a hardwire kit to the fuse box with a low-voltage cut-off that disconnects the camera before the car battery gets too weak. VIOFO's support, for example, explains that a lower cut-off voltage records longer but gets closer to the point where the car may not start. The alternative is a separate battery pack for the camera that never touches the car battery. In summer heat the car battery is itself under strain, so be conservative with the setting, and have a technician fit the kit if you are not experienced.

After an accident. The official accident procedure through Najm or the relevant authorities stays the same. Save the clip straight away and copy it to your phone; it may help explain what happened.
Privacy. Do not post clips showing people's faces or plates on social media. The Personal Data Protection Law, supervised by SDAIA, governs processing of personal data in the Kingdom. If the camera records audio inside the car, tell your passengers.
Approval and warranty. Cameras with Wi-Fi or cellular links are wireless equipment that needs approval from the Communications, Space and Technology Commission. Ask about the in-Kingdom warranty.
Visibility. Mount it so it does not block your view of the road, and away from the airbag's path.
